years of school teaching. Her sons Cooper and Carson keep her busy. Her
husband Chris Phillips is President at the Prosperity Bank, Roanoke.
Joan and Lisa have a growing monogramming business called SEW BLESSED. Larry
speaks at numerous corporate, school, and church functions each
year. He has conducted in-service training in the following
school districts: Birdville, Keller, Southlake,

Chris Hayes - Youth Minister

Chris and Shelly Hayes
met at Lubbock Christian
University and were married in Lancaster, Texas on August 15, 1998.
Chris has served in youth ministry since April, 2000. Shelly serves as
a Licensed Social Worker for Charlton Methodist Hospital and has done
so since February, 2000.
Chris graduated from Lubbock Christian
University with a degree in Business Administration in 1998. Following
graduation, Chris began working for Penson Financial Services in
Dallas, TX. During this time, Chris answered the call to ministry and
began serving as Youth Minister for the Ovilla church in Ovilla, TX
where he served for 6 years. In the fall of 2006, Chris began serving
as Youth Minister at the Mansfield church.
Shelly helps people
in all kinds of circumstances in her role as a Social Worker. She has
been recognized for her outstanding work at Charlton Methodist
Hospital, was also nominated for and serves on the Emerging Leadership
Team. When her job allows her the time to do so, Shelly serves the
Youth Ministry in several ways. Shelly is also involved in helping with
the nursery and Kid’s Crusaders ministry.
Chris and Shelly have
two daughters, Mallory and Morgan. Mallory is 8 and Morgan is 6. Both
girls love to play softball and are involved in gymnastics. Chris and
Shelly love being involved in their girls’ lives. Chris enjoys helping
them with softball, helping out in their classes at school, and just
being “daddy.” Shelly loves to take the girls shopping, swimming, and
taking them out for an occasional vanilla bean frapaccino at Starbuck’s.
Chris
enjoys watching college football (especially Notre Dame!), running
(when he’s not too busy), eating (Italian food... its good.), movies,
softball, and loves being involved in the fast-paced culture of
teenagers. Chris is constantly thinking about relevant ways to share
the good news of Jesus Christ with teens and is always looking to
creatively share the amazing message of God’s love with them. Chris
believes that Youth Ministry must consist of three things – providing
Godly Guidance in the sometimes confusing lives of teens, attempt to
Copy Christ in His perfect model of ministry, and must be Intentionally
Impacting by relating well to teens and their culture. |
